How this site works

How we update prices

What the figures on these pages are, how often we refresh them and what the till does when they disagree.

The catalog was last updated on October 10, 2026. Prices, colors and stock on every page come from that update.

What we update

Prices, which colors are available, and whether a product is in stock at all. A product with no live offer leaves the site at the next rebuild rather than sitting here with a price nobody can pay, and it comes back on its own when it returns to stock.

Canopy sizes, liters, lengths and what is in the box change far less often. Those come from the data we hold on each product, and they are re-read whenever that product is rebuilt.

How often

On a schedule, and after any change to the range. Prices move with promotions and with stock, so the figure here is the one from our last update and the figure at checkout is the one you pay. Where the two disagree, the till is right.

What happens at checkout

We do not take payment, hold stock or ship. The shopping button opens our retail partner, and the order, the payment and any return happen there under their terms.

What we read

Where a page here says what a public body advises, this is what was read and when.

  • The Skin Cancer Foundation, Sun-Protective Clothing. UPF indicates how much UV radiation, both UVB and UVA, a fabric allows to reach the skin. A UPF 50 fabric blocks 98 percent of the sun's rays and lets about one fiftieth through; the foundation rates UPF 30 to 49 as very good and UPF 50+ as excellent. Read September 24, 2026.
  • US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Sun Safety. The CDC lists shade under an umbrella, a tree or other shelter as one way to reduce the risk of sun damage, alongside clothing, a wide-brimmed hat, broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher and sunglasses. UV rays are strongest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daylight saving time in the continental US. Read September 24, 2026.
  • US Transportation Security Administration, Umbrellas. Umbrellas are allowed in carry-on bags and in checked bags; the agency asks travelers to check with their airline for any size or weight restrictions. Read September 24, 2026.
  • US National Park Service, The Ten Essentials. The park service lists navigation, sun protection, extra clothing, illumination, first aid, fire, a repair kit, extra food, water and emergency shelter as the ten essentials for a day hike, and advises packing an extra layer, such as a rain shell, for the most extreme conditions you could meet.
